FA and Pepsi decide to end partnership

The Football Association (FA) and international soft drinks company Pepsi will end a three-year business relationship following this summer’s World Cup in Germany. Pepsi had served as one of the FA’s five main partners.

The FA is expected to look for a new beverage company sponsor for the team, with energy drink makers Powerade expected to emerge as a favourite, according to IrelandOnline.com. The move also means Wembley Stadium is free to sign a new soft drinks sponsor, with Pepsi rival Coca-Cola a possibility.

FA’s commercial director Jonathan Hill said the end of the partnership with Pepsi was “not unexpected” and said other sponsorship news would be announced in the near future.

In other Wembley sponsorship news, Carlsberg is expected to announce that it will join Umbro as one of the founding partners of the new stadium.
