FA Cup sponsors try to make supporters earth-conscious
England - 21 December, 2007
The major English FA Cup sponsors have banded together to try to integrate a better fan experience at the event while inducing fans to make energy-saving changes.
E.ON, Carslberg and National Express will work together to get fans to reduce their "carbon footprint". The three companies wish to show supporters how they can make mundane changes in their lives and while venturing to matches that will help the planet.
National Express will provide a free coach for traveling supporters of the 32 teams drawn away from home.
E.ON, in association with Carlsberg, is hosting two 'Help the planet, go down the pub' events for Liverpool and Newcastle fans unable to travel to their teams' matches at Luton Town and Stoke City, respectively. Those supporters will be encouraged to view matches with former FA Cup.
