Bundesliga clubs income €100m in sponsorship deals

The 18 Bundesliga clubs are to set a new sponsorship record in 2005/06 with incomes to top the €100m mark. Sponsorship incomes have been growing from €95.2m in 2003/04 to €96.2m in 2004/05 and the 2005/06 season could cash a maximum of €103.8m, depending on success and TV appearance related clauses.

Bayern Munich top the sponsorship list in the most lucrative deal with Deutsche Telekom (until 2008) which can income the club up to €20m. Borussia Dortmund secured second place in a deal with energy suppliers E.ON which can income the club up to €12 m. VfL Wolfsburg are third in a €10m deal with Europe’s largest car manufacturers and club owners, Volkswagen. At the bottom end of the list: 1.FC Koln - €2.7m in a deal with insurance company Gerling, Eintracht Frankfurt - €2.5m in a deal with airport owners Fraport, MSV Duisburg €2m in a deal , with frozen food producers Iceline, and Arminia Bielefeld - €1.5m in a deal with brewery Krombacher.
