FA in a deal with T-Com

German Telecommunication Company Deutsche Telekom signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the German FA (DFB). The Company’s terrestrial network operator T-Com are set to become a Premium Partner of the DFB for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany and UEFA EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.

The deal was signed after previous sponsor E-Plus prematurely ended their sponsorship contract. E-Plus had made former Germany coach Rudi Völler their main figurehead, but opted to end their involvement with the DFB after Jürgen Klinsmann succeeded Völler as national coach following Germany’s first-round exit at UEFA EURO 2004.
