The Bundesliga club signed a deal worth €4.35m a-year with the Cyprus tourist board, which is keen to strengthen its popularity on the German market and has reportedly already offered Cologne the lucrative contract. The club’s co-operation with Cyprus would go beyond regular measures such as the shirt sponsorship. The team is to locate its winter training camp in Cyprus and coaches from Cyprus are to be invited to study training methods.
