Coca-Cola renews deal with Football League

Coca-Cola is continuing its largest domestic football commitment by extending its contract with the English Football League for another three years, until 2010.

The company's major brands, Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero and Powerade, will be the basis of its sponsorship.

"Having a company like Coca-Cola as our title sponsor for a further three seasons is a terrific boost for the Football League," said Lord Mawhinney, chairman of the league.

"Their continued support is a huge vote of confidence in our clubs and our competition. It also demonstrates that the re-branded Football League is a power in the commercial marketplace."

"We cannot underestimate the importance of using this new deal to build on the foundation of innovative ideas we've developed over the last three seasons to help strengthen the League and get the fans closer to their clubs and teams," said Steve Cumming, head of sponsorship for Coca-Cola Great Britain.
