Kevin Kuranyi is to sign a deal with adidas

The German international striker is to sign a ten-year contract worth €4 million with the sport goods manufacturers. Kuranyi’s previous agreement with Puma expires in the summer. However, the lucrative move to adidas is likely to upset the player’s club, VfB Stuttgart. Stuttgart is currently in talks to renew its deal with Puma until 2010 and will now face a potential penalty for breach of contract or even a compensation suit if Kuranyi is allowed to sign for a rival. “The best option is to start talks with all partners immediately and then I am sure that we will be able to settle the matter,” said Kuranyi’s advisor, Karl-Heinz Förster. Two estranged brothers founded Adidas and Puma and they are based in the small village of Herzogenaurach, close to Nuremberg.
