The 2.Bundesliga club and shirt sponsors Liqui Moly have mutually agreed to put an end to their three-year partnership in June 2005. "We have reached our aims over the past three years and were able to increase our popularity and strengthen our image," said Ernst Prost, manager of the company that produces oil products for cars. The decision will allow IMG, who only recently agreed a long-term marketing contract with 1860 Munich, to find a new main sponsor for the club. The 1860 board is also hopeful it will be able to open the 66,000-capacity Allianz-Arena - which is co-shared with city-rivals Bayern Munich - by winning promotion back to the 1.Bundesliga after relegation in 2003/04.
