Express Cafés to cater Crystal Palace

Express Cafés, a mobile catering company that is part of Compass Group, signed a five year contract for over GBP 2.5 million with English Championship club Crystal Palace.

Express Cafés will run a minimum of 16 stands over the course of 23 league matches at Selhurst Park.

"Crystal Palace FC is a welcome addition to the football stadiums at which we already offer our catering services," said Mark Morris, managing director of Express Cafés.

"We have extensive experience in catering at major venues, with our different offers spreading across venues such as the Millennium Stadium, Twickenham and Reading FC as part of our portfolio. At Express Cafés, our aim is to offer a revolutionary new approach that transforms the customer experience."

So far, Crystal Palace has managed its entire stadium catering in house. The 'Stadia' approach from Express Cafés will offer customers access to a range of well known brands that are recognised by customers, such as Wimpy, SubCulture, Carvery, Quenchers and Café Panini.

"At Express Cafés, we take a completely new approach to catering at stadia," Morris said.

"For Crystal Palace FC, we will be creating food courts within the main concourse rather than individual units around the stadium, which will all be clearly branded with their different offers.

"This extended choice, variety and improved quality aims to set this stadium apart from its competitors, completing the guest experience and providing a standard of service of which the club can be proud."
