FIFA in a deal with Hyundai Kia

Hyundai Kia Automotive Group will be FIFA’s Official Automotive Partner from 2007 to 2014. It makes it the second member of the new partnership model put in place by world football’s governing body. Hyundai, Korea Republic’s premier carmaker and an Official Partner of the flagship FIFA World Cup since 2002, joins adidas in this new class of sponsorship, which further partners to be announced shortly. Overseen by FIFA’s marketing & TV division, FIFA's redesigned commercial strategy groups its marketing partners into three new categories: six FIFA partners, six to eight FIFA World Cup sponsors and four to six national supporters. A FIFA partner enjoys the highest level of association with FIFA and gains rights to all FIFA events, exclusive marketing assets, increased media exposure and an affiliation with the governing body's events and development initiatives. Belonging to this elite six-member club affords Hyundai core sponsorship rights to all FIFA Events including the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and 2014. Hyundai will act as FIFA’s Transport Management Provider on a global basis during this eight-year period, providing transport services and vehicles for the World Cup and other FIFA events. Korea Republic’s largest carmaker is also committed to supporting all FIFA development programmes and events, especially the Women’s World Cup China PR 2007, as well as other emerging FIFA tournaments such as the Beach Soccer World Cup and the Interactive World Cup.
