Telekom Austria will be a national supporter for UEFA EURO 2008

Telekom Austria has signed a deal to be the national supporter for UEFA EURO 2008. Telekom Austria will be the Official Telecommunication Provider in Austria.
Telekom Austria will play a role in running UEFA EURO 2008, by providing all telecommunications services necessary to UEFA and EURO 2008 before and during the event, UEFA announced Tuesday.
"In addition to giving top-quality technical support, Telekom Austria will also provide exclusive coverage in Austria of UEFA EURO 2008 to its mobile customers," read the UEFA announcement. "A combination of cutting-edge programming and mobile technology will offer fans in Austria all the goals and the best action from every match at UEFA EURO 2008."
UEFA added that as part of the agreement, Telekom Austria has the rights to develop UEFA EURO 2008 marketing programmes throughout Austria using a full range of brands, logos and graphic elements that represent the event, as well as having access to tickets and premium hospitality packages for consumers, customers and staff.
The aim of the being a national supporter is to create an exclusive group of four Austrian and four Swiss companies that help facilitate the staging of the UEFA EURO 2008 through their services.
"Support from the highest-level corporations in the two host countries is essential to successfully bring the event to the fans and to create a strong local pride in hosting the event," UEFA said.
"I am delighted to have Telekom Austria on board as our first National Supporter," said Friedrich Stickler, president of the Austrian Football Association and member of the Euro 2008 SA board. "Telekom Austria is not only one of the major companies in Austria but also one of the most prestigious. I am confident our partnership will be a fruitful one."
