FC Augsburg picked up a new sponsor when it joined with Augsburger Aktienbank for a deal starting with the upcoming season.

"We are very glad to welcome Augsburger Aktienbank as a new member in our pool of sponsors," said Walter Seinsch, chairman of the FC Augsburg board. "A partner this performance-oriented and reputable puts our athletic goals even more within reach."

The exclusive partnership ensures the bank a comprehensive advertising presence tying in to the second-league club in the coming two seasons. This includes a TV presence through perimeter board advertising as well as public relations campaigns with players, halftime events at Rosenau Stadium, and an allotment of VIP tickets. The partnership was brokered by SPORTFIVE, the historic club's new marketing partner.

"Our sponsorship of the FC Augsburg is a clear commitment to our location, and will also hopefully help to raise our brand awareness both regionally and nationwide," said Lothar Behrens, an Augsburger Aktienbank AG Director. "As the biggest communications platform in sports, football is a perfect choice for this. In FC Augsburg, we have found a partner for whom independence, flexibility and speed are just as important as for us."
