Arminia Bielefeld renew deal with Krombacher

Krombacher Brauerei will keep its status as main sponsor for German Arminia Bielefeld.

The contract, brokered by SPORTFIVE, was extended until the 2009-2010 season, and covers the First and Second Division football teams.

Included are promotional jerseys advertising Krombacher im prominent lettering across the chests. Krombacher lettering also will be worn by the top amateur team.

Krombacher will get space on the perimeter board relevant to TV broadcasts and the brewery will have cam carpets near the goal. A large number of additional advertising and promotional opportunities, from the logo on the team bus to commercial announcements during the games to advertisements and editorial commentary in the stadium newspapers are included.

Krombacher Pils, Krombacher Alkoholfrei, Krombacher Radler and Cab are on sale at the SchücoArena.

The brewer contributes financially to the club by participating in DSC Arminia Bielefeld's fan bond. The revenue from that will allow the club to work on its infrastructure, including expanding the SchücoArena and the training field.

Krombacher signed the contract regardless of possible relegation.

"That is secondary. It's much more important for Arminia to be firmly anchored and entrenched in the region," said Hans-Jürgen Grabias, Marketing Manager for Krombacher Brauerei. "Nonetheless, we're keeping our fingers crossed that Arminia maintains its position."

That attitude went over well with the club.

"With this strong, reliable partner, we have a positive future ahead of us. It's good to have a partner like Krombacher that stands by us through thick and thin," said Roland Kentsch, Managing Director of DSC Arminia Bielefeld.
