HERTHA BSC, HSV and Bayer 04 Leverkusen now fuelled by star

Starting with the upcoming 08/09 season ORLEN Deutschland AG will be promoting its 'star' brand through German HERTHA BSC, Hamburg SV and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

The petrol station group will use the cooperation package arranged by SPORTFIVE to build awareness of the star brand, primarily through perimeter advertising, commercials on the scoreboard and various special forms of advertising. The new cooperation was initially signed through 2010. The players and other teams in the three clubs will also receive a quota of prepaid card, allowing them to fuel up for free at any star petrol station.

"We currently operate nearly 500 petrol stations under the star brand in northern Germany. Our goal is to position star as an inexpensive alternative for German petrol buyers," explains Josef Busch, CEO of ORLEN Deutschland AG. "HERTHA BSC, HSV and Bayer Leverkusen are wonderful clubs with international appeal and strong regional roots. And since Berlin, Hamburg and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia are our core markets in Germany, it was an obvious choice for us to partner with these three clubs."

"I am confident that the cooperation with our three partner clubs HERTHA BSC, HSV and Bayer 04 Leverkusen will be a resounding success for the company. The star brand will boost its awareness ratings both in the crucial regional markets and nationwide, and will derive clear benefits from the positive image of these three top clubs," comments Carsten Cramer, Vice President Marketing & Sales at SPORTFIVE.
