eircom is looking for an extension, wanting to keep its name on the Irish football league after the existing contract is finished.
eircom has been the chief sponsor of the association since 1999. The deal is up by the end of this year (2008), but talks are in place to at least push the contract ahead to 2012.
The new deal reportedly could add EUR 20 million to the FAI the next four years.
