As the second half of the Bundesliga season kicks off, the Carlsberg Germany Group begins an exclusive partnership with Hertha BSC. The five-year commitment is the international premium beer company's first step into German football. With a passion for football and a close affinity with the fans, the brand takes to the playing field in the Olympia Stadium and greater Berlin.

"In Carlsberg, we've found a vibrant beer partner that has already proved itself on the international market. We believe that Carlsberg is a good match for both Hertha and the city," says Hertha manager Dieter Hoeneß.

Hermann Crux, marketing manager of the Carlsberg Germany Group adds: "We are delighted with the collaboration and join our partners Hertha BSC and Sportfive in looking forward to a successful and exciting sporting future."

The business will use the club's popular appeal and the partnership to pursue several interests: on the one hand expanding its brand recognition in combination with football and on the other establishing the Carlsberg brand in the thriving club culture in Berlin's metropolitan area. The business will serve up an extensive package of measures both in the stadium and outside in Berlin's restaurant/catering and retail trade. This allows it to reach football fans, Berliners as well as visitors to the city. Carlsberg will advertise on the stadium's perimeter boards as well as in its public bar and VIP boxes/lounges.
