Adidas may pay more to sponsor DFB

Adidas has been a sponsor of the German FA (DFB) since the 1950's and may now pay more money to continue being a partner.

Adidas presently pays the DFB EUR11 million per year to be the official supplier to the German football club.

US rival Nike has offered to pay EUR 50 million for an eight-year sponsorship deal starting in 2011. The DFB is seriously considering the offer.

Adidas and the DFB are currently arguing over the length of its current contract. Adidas insist the contract runs until 2014, while the DFB says it will expire in 2011.
