FC Dallas Selects SportsPilot’s Facility Management Solution
USA - 05 November, 2004
SportsPilot, Inc, a Texas based Information Services Company specializing in amateur sports, announced that it has signed a cooperative marketing and development agreement with the club. Under this two phased agreement, SportsPilot will work with the Dallas Burn to develop and refine SportsPilot’s SportsStandings system, incorporating new facility management features designed to greatly simplify management and maximize revenue for the Burn’s Frisco Soccer & Entertainment Center consisting of 17 prime football (soccer) fields and 20,000 seat stadium. “In addition to simplifying management and scheduling of fields, the SportsStandings system will also allow unused resources to be made available for online rental.” said Ron Toupal, President of SportsPilot. “SportsPilot will provide us with a high-end, comprehensive field scheduling management solution,” said John Alper, Vice President of the facility. “We are thrilled to have this agreement and partnership with such an innovative company and look forward to utilizing this on a year-round basis.” In addition, SportsPilot will promote the club’s sponsored events through SportsPilot’s SportsTech Video Sponsorship System, running in Frisco’s SportsTech Center. The club will reciprocate by promoting SportsPilot with signage and other promotional material, as well as making them the exclusive provider of field scheduling software for the facility. “We expect to capture over 3m fan and sports enthusiast hours annually. Combining audiences from both facilities creates a powerful marketing engine, helping each enterprise to reach the entire sports market, said Brad Cook, President of SportsTech, LP. SportsPilot, Inc. is an information services provider specializing in amateur sports information systems. SportsPilot currently serves over 500 sports organizations nationally, processing over 500,000 player and team registration transactions annually. SportsPilot also is the leading provider of hand-held scorekeeping software, offering its SportsPilot Score Pad software for Basketball, Baseball, Football (Soccer), Softball and Hockey. SportsTech is a 130,000 sq. ft. indoor sports facility scheduled to open in the spring of 2005, just 500 ft. north of the Frisco Soccer & Entertainment Center. The facility will host youth and adult football (soccer), basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, football and futsal and will incorporate the latest in architectural design and high-technology, creating a professional sports atmosphere for Frisco youth and parents. The facility is owned by BWC Properties, a Frisco based Development Company specializing in commercial sports facilities. The Frisco Soccer & Entertainment Center is $US65m joint venture between Collin County, the City of Frisco, Frisco Independent School District and the Dallas Burn, A Hunt Sports group (HSG) venture. The Complex will uniquely encompass a 105-acre facility that will include a 20,000-seat stadium along with 17 amateur football (soccer) fields. The stadium and related facilities will be the home of the Dallas Burn, FISD Varsity High School Football Games, local, regional and national football (soccer) tournaments, and other entertainment events on a year-round basis. The stadium will be the third football (soccer) specific stadium to open in the United States, following Columbus Crew Stadium (1999) and the Los Angeles Galaxy's Home Depot Center (2003). In conjunction with the club's move to the Frisco Soccer and Entertainment Center in 2005, the Dallas Burn will change their name to FC Dallas.
