The most marketable players

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
A report by London-based legal firm Field Fisher Waterhouse has compiled a list of the most marketable football players. The list defines players who are to be most attractive to corporate companies, from criteria based on looks, attitude, style, success and their ability to avoid negative publicity. Premier League club Arsenal forward Thierry Henry heads the list. Henry sponsors are French motor vehicle manufacturer Renault, and sport good manufacturer US based Nike. Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is second on the list, ahead of a Spanish Primera Liga club Real Madrid Ronaldo, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane. "It is a lot more than performance on the pitch, it is about how well the ordinary person on the street recognizes them, how charismatic they are, their global appeal, even how they dress," Michael Stirling, head of transfer pricing strategies at Field Fisher Waterhouse, commented to media. "Thierry Henry is the hottest property right now he looks great, he's the right age, he plays in a sexy position and he has everything", Stirling added.
