Real Madrid’s marketing boost

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Primera Liga club will earn around € 300m in total in the forthcoming season. This represents a 28% increase on the reported turnover figure of € 234m given by president Florentino Perez before his re-election. 46% (€138m) season forecast will be earned from marketing. Of this sum, the club does not state how much will come from merchandising, where the club shares 50% replica kit sales with kit supplier Adidas, or what boost there has been in this field following the acquisition last summer of England International midfielder David Beckham. "A few years ago, Manchester United was the highest selling club in the world, simply because they had a marketing policy that was 10 years more advanced than any others,” Perez commented. "This is no longer the case and the current impact of our brand is beyond comparison.”
