Infront Sports & Media has made more new media agreements, signing mobile broadcast agreements to the 2006 World Cup for several Central America territories, including Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, as well as Mexico.

EBClosion S.A., a leading Latin American technology developer for mobile solutions, secured the non-exclusive Spanish language rights to the World Cup in all of the previously mentioned territories. The rights granted are in the category of mobile telephones.

EBClosion earned sublicensing rights within the territories. For Mexico, it is required that the sub-licensee is the leading national mobile telephony network operator as identified by reference to the total number of subscribers.

The agreement applies also to archive video material of the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.

Unefon S.A., a mobile network operator in Mexico, acquired non-exclusive mobile telephone rights to the 64 matches of this year’s World Cup, and archive access to all the 2002 event for the territory of Mexico in Spanish language.

Both agreements will enable the licensees to transmit up to four minutes of key match footage for “near-live” and/or delayed coverage, via mobile networks to mobile phones. The licensees agree to comply with Infront’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) and geo-blocking requirements within each territory.
