Rising Second League club FC Augsburg and the Hamburg-based sports rights agency SPORTFIVE signed a deal for the 2006-2007 season.
SPORTFIVE has exclusivity to market all of the club’s advertising and marketing rights. That can run from acquiring new advertising partners to creating and implementing sponsorship concepts and marketing the club’s official homepage. SPORTFIVE will build a local team in collaboration with the Swabia, a Bavaria-based club.
“We are very pleased about our future collaboration with SPORTFIVE,” said Walther Seinsch, President and Chairman of FC Augsburg. “I am fully confident that the expertise and network possessed by Europe's market leader in matters of sports marketing will have very positive effects for our club and our sponsors. Meanwhile, we retain ownership of all the rights.”
“We hope to transform FC Augsburg’s recent successes on the pitch into marketing successes and look forward to the collaboration,” said Thomas Röttgermann, Managing Director SPORTFIVE. “Based on the excellent structures and the determination of the team headed by Walther Seinsch, we firmly believe that great things can be done here.”
