Fever Pitch continues successful cooperation in Styria

Fever Pitch, a German marketing agency specialising in the marketing of friendly matches, training camps and tournaments, has announced the continues cooperation with one of the most successful pre-season training camp organisers, Austrian International Football Camps Styria (IFCS).

IFCS, part of the local government of Styria (Steiermark), has for years been organising pre-season camps for the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal London, AS Rome, Schalke 04 and a host of other top European teams.

Last year both IFCS and Fever Pitch agreed a long term cooperation which would see Fever Pitch organising and managing the commercial and media rights of IFCS, including the sale of TV rights to its friendly matches.

In 2007 these matches included Schalke 04 vs. FC Copenhagen, Hertha BSC Berlin vs. Middlesbrough, SS Lazio vs. Stuttgart and Arsenal London vs. Genclerbirligi Ankara. For 2008 the organisation of a ‘mini’ tournament is planned over four days involving four European teams. The tournament will be complimented by number of friendly matches.

Nicholas MacGowan von Holstein, Senior Partner at Fever Pitch, did not want to reveal which teams would be holding their training camps in Styria in 2008, but revealed that discussions are ongoing with a number of “top class teams”. Considering that the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal have been returning to Styria for the last few years, it can be assumed that some of Europe's top clubs will once again return to Styria in 2008.

“IFCS have been doing a fantastic job in Styria over quite a number of years and Styria is known in the football world as a top location for pre-seasons camps. This allows us to have discussions with a number of top class teams from around Europe and we are confident of surpassing the quality of this year for 2008. Having some of the best teams in the world has also been felt in our preliminary discussions with sponsors and TV stations” said MacGowan von Holstein.

It is understood that Fever Pitch will be looking to reduce the sponsorship pool for 2008 but make the sponsorships packages even more attractive to major brands. “Styria is one of the top locations for preseason camps with top class teams and we want to reflect that with our sponsorship pool. We are giving companies to sponsor matches involving some of the best teams in Europe and that is a unique opportunity, especially considering that sponsorship in football is becoming more and more expensive” said MacGowan von Holstein.

The Austrian National team has selected Styria to reside during the Euro 2008 in their own country.
