Serious, an international DVD card maker, announced it had renewed its license with English Manchester United, which will allow Serious to continue to make collectible DVD Cardz for the club.

Serious is a privately held digital publisher and marketer with offices in New York, London and Singapore.

DVD Cardz, which stores player information including video and audio, are rectangular DVDs that look like trading cards but are played back in DVD players, drives and the PS2/Xbox.

In December, Serious will debut the 2007 Wayne Rooney DVD card.

Mark Hargreaves, general manager of Manchester United Interactive, said the club has always led in both business and technological sides.

"We are therefore delighted to extend this partnership and continue to bring spectacular matchaction to our fans via this non-traditional and highly collectible format," said Hargreaves.

Serious first produced the DVD Card collection with Manchester United in 2004 and has since produced one for 2005 and one for 2006.

Each card features a different player containing information regarding on pitch footage and mini-interactive records of each season's highlights.

It was nominated for a British Interactive Media Award in 2005, a Sports Industry Award in 2006 and a Licensing Award in 2006.
