Borussia Dortmund in naming rights deal

The Bundesliga club has agreed a five-and-a-half years naming rights deal, with an option for 1 year of extension, with insurance and finance company Signal Iduna Group. According to the deal, which was brokered by the club’s marketing arm – sport marketing agency Sportfive, the club’s 83,000-capacity Westfalenstadion stadium will named “Signal Iduna Park” as from 1 December 2005. Financial details has not been released, however it was said the payments are depend significantly on performance.

“This will give us the foundations to be able to fulfill our long term goals,” said club managing director Hans Joachim Watzke.
