Manor, the leading department store retailer in Switzerland, was selected as the official shop for UEFA EURO 2008 licensed products and will sell competition merchandise in all 70 of its stores.
"This partnership ensures that UEFA EURO 2008 will have a high quality product presence to communicate the passion of EURO 2008 to football fans throughout Switzerland," said Philippe Margraff, Chief Operating Officer of UEFA Marketing & Media Management.
Sales will begin in June 2007, a year before the final tournament, with Manor having a dedicated area in all of its stores for the sale of merchandise.
Manor's ten largest stores will have a strong merchandise presence, but in the host cities of Basle, Berne, Geneva and Zurich, the EURO product presence will be even stronger.
Products connected with the official mascots Trix and Flix will be a focal point, especially after the success of Kinas, the official UEFA EURO 2004 mascot that was featured on over half of the 2,000 licensed items produced.
"We're proud Manor is the official UEFA EURO 2008 retailer in Switzerland," said Bertrand Jungo, Manor's CEO. "As a highly innovative company we're also looking forward to presenting unique product developments."
"Manor will show its enthusiasm for UEFA EURO 2008, not only in its sensational products, but also in a special spirit, and the spectacular activities which will accompany all of us from June 2007 until the end of the tournament."
"We are delighted to welcome Manor as part of the licensing and merchandising programme for UEFA EURO 2008 and we are looking forward to working together," added Bruno Schwobthaler, Warner Bros. consumer products vice president.
"Their unique expertise in creating excitement at point of sale will support the roll out of the collection of official licensed products, and provides a great platform to satisfy the demands of local, as well as visiting fans."
