Electronic Arts signs up Rooney

Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney signed a two-year deal with Electronic Arts (EA), the world’s biggest video games company. Rooney has signed up as a global brand ambassador along with Barcelona star Ronaldinho, with whom EA already has an agreement. Both players will star in heavyweight TV campaigns that will break ahead of the EA FIFA game release in October. The adverts will be the first work by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam since the agency was appointed to handle EA’s £80m global budget.
