Mobile sports content provider Sportev a signed two-year seal with Korean firm Media 2.0 to provide video clips of English Premier League matches on mobile phones in Korea. Will Muirhead, chief executive and founder of Sportev, said: “Korea has led the way in the deployment of 3rd generation mobile technology and is now perfectly positioned for content owners to start enjoying new revenue generating opportunities. Following Park Ji-Sung’s signing for Manchester United there is growing interest in the Premier League from Korean fans and the Premier League is keen to ensure that those fans can access coverage in the manner of their choice.” Sportev has completed Premier League mobile rights deals in Hong Kong, Brazil, South Korea and New Zealand. It is also responsible for the technical delivery of the league's mobile video products in all other international territories. Media 2.0 was founded by Yeong Jae Choi in April 2000 and is one of the leading internet and mobile entertainment companies in Korea. Choi said: “There are currently 20 million 3G subscribers in Korea and the market is now ready to start generating significant income from mobile entertainment products.“
