The new Wembley is ready to go, but the fans might not be.
Some have been turned off by the high price of watching at Wembley, with some fans threatening not to buy food at matches, and a poll showing there are more threats of not renewing season tickets.
There has been, some feel, a lack of affordable tickets for the English FA final. The food and merchandise are outrageous in terms of pricing, too.
Another item sticking with the boycotters is the 25,000 ticket allotment to each club for the 90,000-seat facility. Only 4,000 of each club's allotment is valued at GBP 35. Other tickets range from GBP 60 to 80 to 95. That also has sent the black market demand soaring at an outrageous price.
Chelsea and Manchester United fans have urged supporters not to buy Wembley's GBP 8 burger meals and GBP 10 programmes.
The boycott has been backed by the Football Supporters' Federation.
A Virgin Money poll showed 12 percent of football fans might not renew season tickets due to the high price of the game. That figure is opposed to 7 percent last season. Even worse, 16percent believe they cannot afford to attend every home match next season.
Virgin Money said the cost of attending a match has risen by 17.8 percent in a year.
