Cardiff City breaks season ticket sales record

The Football League club announced a record 5,200 season ticket sales, after selling around 800 tickets in just one day. "We sold more yesterday than even on the first day of sales after promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship. Cardiff City has never sold more season tickets in one day, club spokesman told media.

The club offered discounts of up to 21 percent against home Championship tickets - and the fans have responded. The demand is so strong the club has extended their deadline for low prices. All fans who have already bought their season tickets will automatically become members of the new Ambassador club, which includes 20 percent off replica shirts and 10 percent off shop merchandise plus access to away tickets and other benefits. The club's final total of season tickets sold last season was 8,000 and they aim to at least equal that before the start of the season.
