Ufa sports on comeback road

The Ufa Sports Agency is about to set out on its own again, once again going through RTL Group.
Ufa sports, which was formed in 1988 by RTL Group and held at one point more than 50 national association and 300 club rights, has been used as the seed for establishing the international marketing company SPORTFIVE in 2002, after merging with the French agencies Groupe Jean-Claude Darmon and Sport Plus.
SPORTFIVE was acquired by Lagardere, the French media giant and major owner of Airbus aviation, in 2006, taking over its ownership from Advent International, the US private equity group and RTL Group.
Ufa has acquired the 'second-party' Albanian national team's 2010 World Cup qualifying rights, and hinted that there was more to come. Albania's group features Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary and Malta.
