The Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore has reveled that the average attendance, at this stage in the season, is 33,785, 94% of capacity. For comparison, the Spanish Primera Liga has an average attendance of 28,400, reflecting 72.5% capacity, and Italy’s Serie A has an average attendance of 26,650, reflecting 57% of capacity. Scudamore countered claims in media of reduced attendances, “we're going to reach 29m attendance this year. Twenty years ago, attendances were less than 17m,” he commented to media.
