David Beckham has parted ways with Gillette, even though the company has offered a new GBP 3 million contract.
Part of the issue could be that Beckham has been told by advisors to get profit-sharing clauses in his sponsorship deals. That would increase the footballer's net worth. Gillette is believed to have wanted a deal with only payment, and no royalties involved.
Beckham earns roughly GBP 7 million from agreements with adidas with income from shoes, shin pads and clothing.
While Beckham signed a deal with the MLS L.A. Galaxy, a percentage of the revenue that the club makes from increased shirt sales, season-ticket sales and marketing contracts goes to Beckham.
