Gillette replaced Beckham with Henry

English Arsenal captain Thierry Henry is one of three big name athletes that have signed on with Gillette, a U.S. shaving company, to replace David Beckham. The other two are tennis great Roger Federer and golf champion Tiger Woods.

Gillette would not comment on how much the three men were being paid.

Henry said he admires Federer, who at the age of 25 has already won 10 Grand Slams, and Tiger Woods, but admitted that he only has a passing interest in golf.

"I would stay up really late to see Tiger play," Henry said. "Sometimes - I have to be honest - I did fall asleep.

"I would be thinking about my house and wondering if everyone is OK, or thinking it's too cold.

"I don't know if I could hold the club properly."

Henry also mentioned that pressure from the press keeps him striving for perfection.

"You guys keep me on my toes," said Henry.

"Whenever I have a bad game, you let me know, so I just don't want to hear a (negative) story about it. I always want to make sure I am having a good game.

"That's the difference between a great competitor and a great player. You want to push yourself to the limit."
