Despite David Beckham's limited on-pitch time, the MLS L.A. Galaxy believe the large deal to bring the English national to the United Stats was well worth it.
The Galaxy did a contract in the area of GBP 128 million over five seasons.
"He has been there 120 days, but his time with us is five years," said Tim Leiweke, the president of the Anschutz Entertainment Group which owns the Galaxy. "His impact on the pitch will be large – off it, it will be phenomenal.
"David is worth what he earns. He is a good investment. With the jersey deal we had covered (the contract) from day one."
