Wigan continues with lowers ticket prices

Once English Wigan gave fans a taste of low ticket prices, they have had difficulty keeping the rates at a normal level.

Wigan cut prices to GBP 15 against Chelsea, packing JJB Stadium, and have now dropped prices for another seven matches.

"We need the fans to be our 12th man," said manager Paul Jewell. "These are crucial times. I hope the supporters will join us for the battle.

"Everyone saw what a fantastic atmosphere we generated with a packed JJB Stadium against Chelsea. It was absolutely rocking and it had a big impact on the performance of the players.

"The lads were buzzing in the dressing room to be playing in front of a noisy and passionate full house and we want to try and re-create that from now until the end of the season."

Wigan lost to Chelsea on a late goal by Arjen Robben for its third home defeat in a row. The club followed with a beating by Blackburn for a fourth home loss.

JJB Stadium was 2,900 short of the 25,000 capacity for Chelsea. Only 14,864 attended the New Year's Day match against Blackburn.
