The Welsh Premier League has attempted to tap into an untouched demographic, by using promotions in an attempt to appeal to women and children.
The league used a feedback survey that gave way to some ideas to attract an expanded audience.
One offer featured an entrance fee of GBP 10 for a family of four and GBP 1 for children.
"We believe this to be a compelling offer," said league secretary John Deakin.
It wasn't only women and children, but the league wanted to expand its base of new fans overall.
"We are experiencing significant growth in interest in the league from the media, sponsors and supporters and our member clubs are keen to send out a clear message," Deakin said, "(and that is) bring your family along to support your local club and enjoy the drama and excitement that local support really offers."
