England - 20 December, 2004
The High Court has stayed the winding-up order brought by the Inland Revenue, but ordered the League One club to resolve its financial problems. Club directors’ hope that an investor may step forward, however first steps toward administration has been taken as a way of saving the club. Former chairman Guterman has placed a take over bid which would see current owner Alex Hamilton leave with a profit. Guterman’s offer comes after bids by the Wrexham Supporters’ Trust were rejected. "We're hoping that someone comes along in the next couple of weeks," director Dave Bennett told media. The club will be deducted 10 points by the Football League when and if it enters administration.
