Former ISL chairman Jean-Marie Weber is on trial for fraud charges related to the folding of the company.
The company served as broadcasting marketing arm and rights distributor for FIFA for 20 years, but collapsed in May 2001 with roughly USD 300 million in debts.
Weber is among many former executives being charged with fraud. Not all were named due to privacy laws in Switzerland, where the trials are being held. Charges include embezzlement, fraud, fraudulent bankruptcy, harming creditors and the falsification of documents.
Weber was officially named for the first time Nov. 21 in court documents.
