There could be an end in sight to the dispute between UEFA and the G14 group of 18 power clubs.
The two sides have clashed over the release of club players for international duty, and lack of compensation for the clubs. There currently are two court cases active, with one at the European Court of Justice.
Following a G14 meeting, members gave cryptic responses to questions about the court cases perhaps being settled.
"We are more positive than ever (that) we see a conclusion to the matters in the next few weeks or maybe months," G14 vice-president Ferran Soriano of Barcelona told reporters.
None of the G14 members would say specifically how the cases might be resolved.
If nothing else, the G14 seems more open to dialogue with UEFA's club committee, an attempt to appease clubs by giving them a voice in matters.
That has led to the postponement of the G14's expansion meeting, with more than 40 clubs likely being asked to join.
"We have postponed the meeting following talks with UEFA," Soriano said. "The goal is to create a new club group that everyone, including UEFA and public administrations, can recognise as the only organisation representing the clubs."
