Luton Town agents have one charge dropped

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
One charge has been dropped, though the other still stands against agents in the Luton Town transfer case.

The English Football Association dropped a charge against each of the six agents in transfer breach rules. But one charge stands against each agent.

The FA had issued more than 50 charges against the club, former chairman Bill Tomlins, three former directors, and the six agents. The majority of the charges deal with allegations that, after Luton Town signed players, the agents were paid not by the club, as required by FA rules, but by the club's holding company, Jayten Limited.

Sky Andrew, Mike Berry, Mark Curtis, Stephen Denos, David Manasseh and Andrew Mills will not be charged with "failing to ensure that payments to them were made and disclosed through the proper channels."

The other charge against each agent was that they did not have written agreements to act for the club when conducting the negotiations. Denos, Berry and Manasseh have said that is an accurate charge. Andrew, Curtis and Mills have denied it. They have requested personal hearings.
