The Premier League club has been fined €5,000 for breaching the Norwegian Football Federation's (NFF) advertising rules. The team members played with 'ICA and Valerenga against racism' written on the back of their shirts for the opening game of the 2005 season against Ham-Kam. Some of the words on the part of the shirt should not bear any advertising, according to NFF. NFF asked the club for an explanation but did not accept the club's viewpoint. "I am surprised by the way the NFF has interpreted the rules and that they don't support us. In addition, they want to take money off us," board member Sven Mollekleiv told media. "We are clear what the rules say but believe that the NFF has misinterpreted them. “We never comment on cases that have not been closed” NFF president Sondre Kafjord said.
