State-owned company bookmaker Oddset announced they will no long accept bets from any players, coaches or referees for matches in which they are directly involved because of the match-rigging scandal. Erwin Horak, head of the Munich-based company, said the move was made in response to the scandal involving referee Robert Hoyzer. "We've agreed to exclude anyone who could have an influence on the outcome of a sporting event. That includes referees, players and coaches. We will include that exclusion in our conditions of participation." Horak said the German football association (DFB) and the German Football League (DFL), which represents the professional clubs, must now include that ban on players placing wagers on their own matches through Oddset into their regulations. Oddset, which has said it lost around €1m on two of the matches Hoyzer fixed, said it had warned the DFB on 23 August about unusually heavy betting, mainly from Berlin, on two matches under Hoyzer's control about five months before he was suspended.
