Welsh Cardiff City originally hoped its court case with Langston would not be postponed.
But, if the case is delayed until late next summer, it could actually help the club financially.
"We have to await a decision by the court, but a longer delay would certainly help us," club chairman Peter Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo. "I still believe this matter should be resolved outside of a court case. Both sides are facing major legal fees building up to the court case."
The club, which has offered to meet Langston representatives outside of court in pursuit of a settlement, feared a delay because of the financial toll. But a delay until after the season would help in terms of lending confidence toward Cardiff City.
