Despite his stated desire to settle the issue with Langston Corporation, Welsh Cardiff City chief executive Peter Risdale said he remained confident a court decision would go the club's way.
The High Court of Justice will make a decision this week on the dispute between Langston and Cardiff City. Langston claims a loan payment is past due in full. The club said it is not due until 2016.
If the club loses, Risdale has said the club will go into administration.
The case involved GBP 30 million in loans taken out under former boss Sam Hammam who, curiously enough, has helped Langston reps in this squabble.
It all comes down to the judge. He can rule that Cardiff City owes in full with interest. That would lead to administration and the deduction of 10 points with possible further action in future.
He can rule the defence is valid and that the case should go to court. That would stave off the dispute for between one to two years.
Until he makes his ruling, everyone will be in the dark.
