Langston gets hearing delay against Cardiff City

Welsh Cardiff City caught a bad break off the pitch when the High Court postponed its hearing with Langston until after the New Year.

Langston has been seeking a full GBP 24 million loan repayment now. The club claims it has until 2016.

Hextalls, the solicitors for Langston, requested the hearing be deferred, and the court complied. That was against the wishes of club chairman Peter Risdale who, earlier this week, said the hearing needed to be held now, and that the club could not financially withstand a delay.

Risdale said he understood the court decision and now believed the club would be fine, but still urged Langston to settle out of court.

Risdale still stands by his earlier statements that, if the club lost the case, it would be forced into administration.
