UEFA utilized the expected CHF 1,250m Euro 2004 incomes

The summer tournament is expected to generate for UEFA incomes estimated CHF 1,250m from TV rights sales, sponsorships deals, licensing and hospitality. After deducting CHF 350m expenses for operating the tournament (mostly security) and setting aside another CHF 350m to finance UEFA own costs and financing non-profitable tournaments of youth and woman, the remaining CHF 600m will be paid to the national associations affiliated to UEFA. CHF 400m (56% more than the amounts paid in EURO 2000) will be paid over four years to all member associations. CHF 200m will be distributed between the national associations’ teams compete the finals this summer. Each team will receive a minimum of CHF 7.5m while bonuses for wining (CHF 1m) or drawing (CHF 0.5m) will be added on top of this amount. Teams which will reach the ¼ final stages will receive additional CHF 3m, with extra CHF 4m to those who will reach the semi finals. While the losing finalist will receive CHF 6m, the wining side will pocket CHF 10m.
