Sheffield United reports loss

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Championship club has announced an operating loss of £700,000 for the financial year ended 30 June 2004, a significant fall from the £500,000 profit recorded in 2003. The financial fall is related to the on-filed fall, since last year the club reached the promotion to the play-off final and played 10 more matches generating higher income from gate money and prize funds. Turnover dropped from last year’s £13m to £11.8m, but the club did report a 17% increase in their average crowd figure to 21,646, a 20% up year-on-year.
