Barclaycard withheld York City's revenue from season ticket sales
|
The Conference Premier club which generated £60,000 from season ticket sales saw his money withheld by the UK credit card company because it fears the club will not be around in 12 months time, and therefore doesn’t want to be liable if the club goes bankrupt. “It's not a question of saying we think they'll go out of business, but there's a risk and we need to mitigate that" Barclaycard spokesman Ian Barber told Yorkshire Evening Press newspaper.
