UEFA reports EUR 32m profit

UEFA, European football's governing body, revealed that it made a profit of more than EUR 32 million when delegates met for their congress on Friday in Düsseldorf.

During the season 2005-06 UEFA made a net profit of EUR 32.428 million on a turnover of EUR 700.448 million, a margin of just under 5%.

The biggest source of revenue was television rights worth EUR 481.37 million, with sponsors accounting for EUR 116.643 million.

In comparison, ticket sales for the Champions League final were worth only EUR 1.622 million. Solidarity payments, made by UEFA to some of its smallest associations and to certain clubs, reported EUR 123.351.
